Duties and Responsibilities

This internship belongs to the Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM), Department of Operational Support (DOS).

 Interns serve as full team members and participate in projects to learn about the operation of the United Nations.

 OSCM provides comprehensive operational support and consulting services covering supply chain planning, logistics, procurement, vendor management, aviation safety and more for nearly one hundred clients all over the world.

 The main responsibilities of the Data Research Intern:

- Collect and analyze multi？source data, conduct statistical analysis and mathematical programming, generate reports and visualizations, build and maintain databases.

- Clean raw data and maintain data systems for the team.

- Independently produce data visualization outputs for internal and external use.

- Convert analytical results into formal reports and presentations for management.

- Identify and interpret data trends by using statistical methods and basic machine learning.

- Guarantee high？quality clean data for complex analysis.

- Assist in developing data science solutions to support organizational planning and decision？making.

Preferred competencies: data science, applied mathematics, quantitative analysis; proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau and other analytical tools.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
